well mr kehinde...the english you enjoy in yankee rap, is actually ebonics, a corruption of conventional english by african americans, just like jamaicans have patois, and haitians have creole, so west africans have pidgin english...no body raps in conventional english.. it's done in regional slang-uage....and native tongues like ibo, yoruba, might sound good, but can only be understood by people that speak those languages..so pidgin english, especially the way jahza is doin it, which is similar to what fela did with afrobeat, is just right....

Not bad, but truly, unless we compete with rap in it's original form, our contribution will die... broken English is not our language, it's a pause we use in between our language, we are giving too much attention to that rather than flowing in our universal language which happens to be English or our native tongue...Yoruba, Ibo, Hausa, Edo etc... ... You cannot be a Lagosian and understand broken from Warri, but if the Warri person speaks English, you will get it...am i saying don't rap in broken... no, not at all, i am saying that we have to find a way to blend English with...if you listen closely to the successful songs from Naija, they are not done in full broken but a mixture of English, Yoruba or other local language with broken...
