I think the artists that were nominated all deserve it but the the problem is that some of them were nominated in the wrong places while others were neglated, like Faze Alone. they just have to widen out the space of the nomination and try to recognise the hard work of the rest of our hard working artists. we should not critise people like tuface no matter how many times he is nominated, wether his rescent album deserves it on not. that guy has created recognition for nigerian hip hop home and abroad. i do not live in nigeria and i tell you that today in many countries even in ameriaca if you commit a crime deserving imprisonement you could be set free if you mention the name of tuface. if the authorities ask you your nationality just tell them you’re from the same country as tuface. his song african queen is still played in every station, radio or tv, huge paties or small gettogethers worldwide. anyway my name is felix play. i am also a hip hop artist hoping to come down to nigeria soon with the intention of releasing my album. i am a huge fan to 9ice tuface psquare D’banj faze. i do not live in nigeria so maybe there are many more other artist i will apreciate. but these 5 names i mentioned my brother, if you ever see them or hear thier names just give them the respect they deserve. they have made unbelievable international success. there is no other contry in africa today that can boast of 5 internatinaly recoganised and acceptable hip hop artist with the same category. back to the nomination thing, we should be proud of the effort indivduals companies and oganisations are puting in benefit of our artist to reward and encaurage them by awarding them. i have made a tour to different african nations and believe me no other country can baost of the same capacity in sophistication and expenditure when oganising a hip hop award. ok if you like to know me and maybe talk about some thing that will interest you or me my email is felixplaycd@yahoo.com

    Peace and much love.

Its good to see the comments and hear the concern and skepticism of those voting what is considered most valued as far as Hiphop is concerned. Are any of them Hiphop citizens themselves? Have any of them mastered, perfected any of Hiphop’s elements or participated in Hiphop’s culture ever?

Know this, Hiphop’s citizens must organize and band together to speak with one unified voice so that those marketing and promoting to global communities will know the difference between Hiphop culture and rapmusic commercialism!

Look what rapmusic’s commercialism has done in the United States, its divided the citizenship of Hiphop culture into factions that have no true commonspirit or leadership! Hiphop citizens across the globe, Dont let this be YOU!!!! Hiphop is consciousness… Rap is something we do, HIPHOP is something WE LIVE and LOVE!!! Please endorse what Hiphop’s movement has accomplished for us ALL. Endorse the HIPHOP DECLARATION OF PEACE!!!

    There it is.

naija is still far from what i believe hip hop should be i don’t give a fuck about thier crazy beats thier flows are not raw enough and believe only few niggaz are doing what is hip hop in nigeria boyz lik nateo c,mode nine, ikechukwu, illbliss,m.i,ajasa, etc the organizers on naija hip hop awards should take a prior notice of this.an artist like d’banji is great guy in music industry but don’t have the rating real motherfucking core rapper and u do,t tell such will won as the best hip hop i think thier is style is better termed naija flows thn to say is hip hop soon naija will witness the power and what gangster rap is all about..

Please correct me if am wrong, 9ice is about to enter Guinness book of records for winning so many awards with one album over a 3-4year period. Lets face it, the “Gongo Aso” album came out sometime in 2007 if am not mistaking, it has been winning awards since then, other artist like 2 face, P-square and D Banj have to struggle to come up with new albums every year, while this 9ice guys just chills out and people hand him awards for his outdated works. You guys are only making the young man lazy and are also showing an unfair baise towards him. As far as am concerned, the people who come up with these nominations should give other Nigerian artist who have current hits a chance, thats why the awards are done annually, to capture the rave of the period. 9ice should go and sit down.
