XTsamurai traces his foray into music to a musical family. Growing up with a singing mom and multi-instrumentalist father, he gained significant musical awareness as a child. Finding a growing love for guitar-based music, he was drawn towards blues and rock music which he has successfully fused with his own unique style.
His rock influences have been Third Day, Linkin Park, P.O.D, Staind and System of a Down. On the other hand, rap has also found its place in his music and he cites Eminem, Bone thugs ‘n’ Harmony and D.A. Truth as part of his rap influences.
He is currently working on several projects and towards the release of his debut album which would be made available second quarter 2012. His new single is “Shine in my Light’ in which he features super producer Flo. The song talks about standing up for what is good while drawing strength from within.

Mista Dry Gin first caught my attention when i heard him on rapper Certified C4‘s track “Loose Bars” and later when he was featured on underground rapper Fazillion‘s track “Revolver Ocelot meets psychomantis“.
Now Mirror ManMusic which is home to the team of El Flaco, Zee Zee, and producer O’shakes is ready to give him an official introduction to the world. Check out the press release below:
“MirrorMan Music is pleased to introduce UK based Nigerian rapper/ producer/ sound engineer who goes by the name of “Mista Dry Gin”. This carelessly lyrical artist has been producing and mixing music professionally since the age of 16 for the likes of Play Records’ Kanebi, Ghost of Show Dem Camp, eL Flaco & Novo to name a few Nigerians acts. Dry Gin has also written for & collaborated with a wide and rather weird span of artists from around the globe; from Eastern Europe to Italy & Ghana…and it goes on. A rather ecliptic buzz has been steadily growing in the Docklands region of East London after a consistent triple threat grind, releasing EIGHT mixtapes in a little under THREE years (His debut mixtape CHAMELEON dropped in the summer of ’09 & can be found with the rest of his collection at datpiff.com) and a steady stream of show stealing features on numerous mixtapes and viral videos.
MirrorMan is pleased we are the ones bringing him to your attention, offering you his latest mixtape “OVERWEIGHT”, the sequel to the earlier “HEAVYWEIGHT”, and a pick of his virals.”

“SouthPaw who’s real name is Samuel Olojede Afolabi is an upcoming Nigerian rapper and a graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University. Born and bred in the ancient town of Ibadan, the 22 year old lyricist SouthPaw attended Lead City High School in Ibadan. He grew up listening to all kinds of music, hip-hop, soft rock, some bit of Soul and RnB before officially entering the music world as an artiste in 2008.
While at university, he hooked up with the Incubation Factory Crew and has recorded a lot of songs to his credit. A fan of good and creative music no matter the genre, SouthPaw cites Jay-Z and TuFace as his major influences in the music industry today. He is currently signed to Incubation Factory, a Record label/Label Imprint put together by Iredumare Opeyemi and Olusegun Oladapo.
SouthPaw steps to the mic with this song “Din Din Dara” which was produced by another OAU protege Jchedda Laygiri. As he counts the society to be his influence, he paints the norms and the anomalies of the society on this joint. Din Din Dara basically means ‘Enjoyment‘. It was used in this song to mean that the Government enjoys at the expense of the suffering masses.”

The surge of R&B singers keeps increasing by the day and we at NHH are happy to announce that OB! is just the kid to watch out for! I’ve followed his music for a while and watching him perform at one of the editions of One Mic Naija (shoutout to Tosyn Bucknor, Nemi and Osagie!), I can say yup! The kid good.
Check out his new release, a remix of LL Cool J’s ‘Luv you better‘ which features BEATBOXX rap chick MsChief
They came through…Nice!
DTone Martins, the one who sings like a lark, is back! This time, with a sizzling brand new video, “KatiKati.” Katikati is a Yoruba expression that literally means “Nonsense”; in Pidgin English parlance, it means “Jagbajantis.” When one beholds the love of one’s life, speaking “Katikati” may become the in-thing.
